The lynx is the primary animal totem of John Sacelli. In 2001, John began a group meditation circle here in Chicago called Shamanic Dreaming Circle. It was a place for spiritual seekers to connect and commune, to share tragedies and triumphs while exploring dimensions of life and experience that lay just outside (or at times way outside) the normal confines of everyday life. The meditations were focused on finding the dream of the moment, drawing it to you if need be, and following its flow to wherever the dream wanted to lead you. The dream might be a visual experience involving angels, fairies, aliens, animal spirits, ancestors — or the dream might simply be the feeling of your body sitting in a chair while thinking about your life. All experiences were welcomed, and all people honored.
Meditating on our most personal journeys and sharing what we learn together creates a web of spiritual community, or network of Links (Lynx), that continues today. Some of us who worked with John for many years have been asked by him to continue hosting the circles, with the intention of carrying on his teachings from our own vantage point. While John has moved on to his next calling, setting up shop in Mexico and re-connecting with an ancient Mayan lineage, we hope that his influence on the spiritual community here will be carried forward to further constellate a tribe of supportive seekers bravely exploring truth.
